In the beginning of the book, Joseph is portrayed as a 'Mamma's boy'. What can he do? Of course his mother is going to be looking out for him, but Joseph wants to take matters into his own hands. Although Joseph gets along well with his mother, his father is a different story altogether. A man who enjoys a good adventure, but nevertheless a man who doesn't speak many words to his son.
Joseph, age sixteen, comes across ancient powers. Powers that allow him to see people’s dreams. While discovering his powers, Joseph meets an oh-so-beautiful Cleopatra. What are these feelings he holds for her? She is as attractive as she is intimidating and he feels just a little scared. Who can blame him? For Joseph, when he took on these powers, everything changed.
This style of fantasy book wasn't the kind that I usually read, but it was well written. I give this book 3.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 14.

From building in the sandbox behind his house, to drawing fantastical worlds with paper and pencil, there has hardly been a time he hasn’t been off on some adventure in his mind, to the dismay of parents and teachers alike. Also, since the moment he could read, books have consumed vast swaths of his life.

Each filled with worlds just beyond reach, but close enough we can all catch a glimpse of ourselves in the characters he creates.
